City in Folds

Conceptual Urban Design, Interactive Video Installation, Publicity and Privacy

Through conceptual urban design, the idea of the pleated city proposed by Wang Min'an is presented. The research will be conducted from the perspective of urban functional design to the exploration of publicity and privacy, aggregation and dispersion.

In the form of interactive video installations, the audience is invited to participate in the interaction. Experience the concept content from the perspective of vision and sound.

Notion of Foded City

The sociologist Min 'an Wang extended Gil Deleuze's concept of fold.

“Fold city refers to a city that is neither closed nor completely open, with constantly folded layers, where public and private coexist.”

Interactive Video Installation Design

I would like visualized the conceptual content of the folded city through a multi-media practice.

I invite the audience to experience the thinking and criticism of the relationship between people and cities and between people in conceptual urban design.

Interaction

Light sensors sense the light in the room. When the audience touches a specific area, the light changes control the appearance of videos and soundscapes in the corresponding area on the screen.
